Not only do we possess DVD, VHS, Blue Ray, and a host of other emerging technologies, but today we have online movie rentals. Having the option to rent movies online sounds like a great thing, but it also complicates things. When you're using an online movie rental, you need to plan everything ahead of time. You need to understand when you're likely to want to see a movie and order it several weeks in advance. This takes planning.If that weren't enough, think about the wide variety of online movie rental services. Some online video rentals simply send the movies to you from the mail. With other online movie rental services, but it becomes more complex. Some of these offer online movie downloads. Even though it is wonderful to have this choice, it poses another set of problems. Having these online movie rental alternatives means that you'll need to set up a TV to view VHS tapes and DVDs, and put your computer up to watch film downloads. This surely makes laying out your living area harder!I do use online movie rentals, but I remain with the traditional format. For me personally, VHS and DVD are more than enough choices. Maybe someday if a new standard that's high quality is adopted and becomes the technological norm for the nation, I will switch to it. Until then, however, my main source for film rentals is going to be the movie store. Sure, sometimes I get an online movie rental to save money, or to receive a movie which is not available at my local store, but for the most part I would rather have the flexibility of choosing a movie whenever I want one.
